Erin M. Kearns (Ph D, Criminology and Public Policy, American University) is Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Alabama. She has served as a consultant for the Police Foundation and the Department of Justice”s Office of Community Oriented Policing and was a consulting researcher on the DOJ”s 2015 Presidential Task Force on 21st Century Policing and their Comprehensive Law Enforcement Review. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, NPR, Vox, and CNN, as well as in journals such as Studies in Conflict & Terrorism.
