Think back into your childhood, to an exact time and place; whether it was a conversation you were having or time spent doing something special with a loved one, friend, or acquaintance. Memories are powerful; we can draw strength and encouragement from them, especially those of childhood. Those experiences help lay the foundation of our faith and values that carry over to our adult lives, which affect the lives of our own children and all those we come into contact with. When I First Met Jesus is a story of such a memory, one that totally changed a little girls life and the life of her mother as well, just because someone cared enough to share. Let this sweet little story be a challenge to us all to reach out to those around us. You will never know the impact it will have on them, not only for that moment, but for the rest of their lives.

Terry Gentry is a mother of three adult children and has two granddaughters. She shares a home with her daughter Brandy in Angola, Indiana, where she works as a pre-hearing specialist in a small law firm. In her fifty-six years, she has used the gifts and talents God has blessed her with to sing, speak, and teach in churches, retreats, prisons, inner-city works, and different children’s ministries. She has been on staff of two churches as their Sunday school director and children’s pastor. Terry has always loved to write, but only used her writings as a ministering tool and for the pleasure of the kids she was working with at the time. Terry’s prayer for those who read her books is that their hearts will be touched and their lives will be changed, all for the glory of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
