Professor Thelmah Xavela Maluleke is a Chief Research Specialist in the Population Health, Health Systems and Innovation programme at the Human Sciences Research Council, South Africa. She received her Ph D from the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2001. She has been an NRF rated researcher since 2009. Her research work is mainly on sexual health, health promotion, gender and indigenous knowledge systems. She has worked in academic institutions as a lecturer, senior lecturer, researcher, Head of Department: Public Health, Research Associate Professor and Research Champion: Faculty of Health Sciences. She has successfully promoted and supervised doctoral thesis and masters dissertations respectively. She serves as an expert reviewer for a number of journals. She has authored and co-authored articles and books. She is a member of a number professional, academic and community associations and organisations. She has received several awards for academic development and funding for research projects.
