TOMÁS DIEZ ACOSTA (La Habana, 1946). Licenciado en Ciencias Políticas y doctor en Ciencias Históricas, profesor, investigador y ensayista. Ha ocupado diferentes cargos académicos, entre ellos, jefe de investigaciones del Centro de Estudios de Historia Militar de las FAR (1987-1992) y en el Instituto de Historia de Cuba del Departamento de Historia Militar (1993-1998), del Grupo de Análisis (1999-2003) y subdirector de investigaciones Históricas para el área de Revolución (2003-2009). Ha recibido varias condecoraciones, como las distinciones por la Educación Nacional (1986) y la Cultura Nacional (2001); en 2014, recibió la Réplica del Machete Mambí del Generalísimo Máximo Gómez. Sus libros han obtenido tres premios nacionales. Como autor y coautor ha publicado más de veinte libros. También ha publicado decenas de trabajos en revistas especializadas cubanas y extranjeras. Es miembro de la Uneac y la Unión Nacional de Historia de Cuba.
