Dr. A. Ravindra is an I.A.S. officer with a doctorate in development studies. He has held several important positions including those of Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, Karnataka, Commissioner, Bangalore City Corporation, Chairman, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Managing Director, Karnataka Power Corporation and Secretary to the Chief Minister, Karnataka. He has also authored a Research Report on “Metropolitan Bangalore: A Management Perspective” and papers on “Bangalore”s Environment Profile” and “Land Transfers in India”. His works including the present one reflect both his rich administrative experience and academic scholarship. Presently he is working as Chairman, Bangalore Development Authority.
