Iain Galbraith, 1956 in Glasgow geboren, wuchs an der Westküste von Schottland auf. Seit 1982 lebt er in Wiesbaden. Er ist Lyriker, Essayist, Herausgeber und Übersetzer und studierte Moderne Sprachen und Komparatistik an den Universitäten Cambridge, Freiburg und Mainz. Für seine Arbeit erhielt er zahlreiche Auszeichnungen, u.a. den Stephen Spender Prize (2014), den Popescu European Poetry Translation Prize (2015) und den Schlegel-Tieck Prize (2016).
