With only a small circle of friends including the ladies at work and her older cousin Monica, she merely exists in her single life based on safe activities reading, writing, and work until one day, with Monica in tow; she decides to venture out into the world.

Taking one harmless risk at a casino puts into motion a series of events that transforms her simple secure world into a life changing ordeal. The memories of how she managed to turn her life around may haunt her forever.

Amy R. Johnson was born and raised in El Dorado, Arkansas. Currently, she resides in Plano, Texas with her husband and two sons. She received a Master’s of Education degree at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. Always passionate about teaching, learning, and helping others, she teaches high school English and she is the coordinator of an intervention program for at risk students. She loves reading, writing and spending time with family and friends. Her purposes for writing are to shine a “soft and empathetic” light on painful life experiences, provide hope, laughter, joy and promote a “love affair” with literacy.
