Las Rimas, de Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer (Sevilla, 1836-Madrid, 1870), son un clásico de la literatura española del siglo XIX y una lectura obligada del acervo hispánico. En los 76 poemas de este volumen, el autor incursiona en los temas de su cuidada prosa lírica: el amor y el desengaño, el misticismo y la fatalidad.
Exponente fundamental del Romanticismo tardío, Bécquer es uno de los principales poetas de la lengua española, tanto en España como en América Latina. Precursor, junto con Rosalía de Castro, del modernismo español, inspiró a autores de la talla de Juan Ramón Jiménez y Antonio Machado.

His works (including Leyendas and Rimas) have been best sellers since their original publication in the 19th century. A precursor, with Rosalía de Castro, of Spanish Modernism, his natural style influenced Antonio Machado and Juan Ramón Jiménez, among others.
Rimas includes 76 poems published between 1859 and 1870, and is a classic of Spanish literature. Bécquer’s poetry is colorful and vibrant but modern and clear, making it a great choice for readers with a good command of the language.
