Like A Prayer
is a picture book filled with heartfelt wishes for people of any age to read regularly and serve as a colorful reminder of some of our most universal and loving values. The wishes -or- secular prayers in this book are simple and powerful, they consist of one phrase each and speak straight to the heart. Examples of the text are; ‘may you marvel at the little things’, ‘may you be a wonderful friend’, ‘may you do the work you came here to do’, ‘may you see the bigger picture’ etc.
Each wish or prayer is beautifully illustrated by the author/ illustrator Edie. The illustrations are acrylic paintings and have a deep magical and uplifting quality to them. The paintings center around children and animals and the natural world. Therefore the book naturally feels perfect for young children, though it speaks to adults just as much. As it it full of positive affirmations this little book is perfect as a gift for big life events, as a meditation tool for kids, as a spiritual (but secular) guide or just as a nourishing night-time picture book.

Про автора
Edie is a self taught artist. She is a author/illustrator. She was born and raised in The Netherlands but moved to the US to embark on an adventure at the age of 20. She lived in many different places before settling in the NYC area where she has been successfully creating and selling her paintings and children’s books for over 15 years. Her paintings have a dreamy and magical quality, almost always center around children and generally evoke feelings of connection, wonder and positivity. Her books are written in a simple yet profound style, the words and paintings are geared towards inspiring us and our children to be in the present moment and to connect deeply to ourselves, each other and the beauty in our world. Edie’s work has been shown in the NYC Union Square Holiday market for 10+ years, as well as local NYC galleries and museums. She has licensed her artwork for greeting cards that are widely distributed.
