Mamas Girls tells the story of a married woman turned single mother of five. All five of her daughters have very different personalities even in their youth. Mama has to find ways to balance meeting the needs of all five of her children, especially her youngest, Sonya, who is a part of a secret that she has no idea about. As the girls grow up, they begin to focus on their own needs and eventually delve deeper into their own lives. Sonya remains close to Mama; however, she denies herself a personal life to make sure that Mama is okay. Shes beginning to feel overwhelmed, and then one day, Mama has an accident. Sonya calls her sisters and asks them to come see Mama and help her get through this tough time. Will all of Mamas girls show up?

Garrett Davis is an award-winning playwright who has completed five national tours. He has written, directed, and produced over twenty stage plays. Over the last five years, the creative mind behind such productions as The Lord Will Make a Way, Jessie & Lucy, Temptation, If Loving You Is Wrong, Private Chambers, and How to Make a Wrong Relationship Right, Davis has penned two of the most thought-provoking and hilarious productions that has started a drastic and far-reaching change in the way people are thinking and behaving concerning caregiving with Mama’s Girls and Alzheimer’s disease with Forget Me Not. Davis serves as an ambassador for the National Alzheimer’ Association and works to ensure that all understand the laws that affect the quality of life for those caring for and who have Alzheimer’s disease. Davis is also one of the founders of the African American Network against Alzheimer’s disease, whose honorary cochairs are Dr. Satcher, Rev. Al Sharpton, and former administration officials the Honorable Kay Coles James and Melody Barnes. Davis has committed his life to writing and producing stage plays that bring real-life situations to the stage. He is now adding a new literary division to his company, transforming his stage plays into novels.
