John was born in Akron, Ohio, in 1937. He attended the College of Agriculture at Ohio State University, where he studied dairy science. While working on his master’s thesis, he met his future wife on a blind date, and they were married a year to the day later. That was fifty-one years ago (and counting). Three years later, his son was born.
From Ohio, John and his family moved to Tennessee, where he taught biology at Milligan College. The next stop was Denver, Colorado, where John began his lifelong career as a computer programmer and system technician. In Denver, his daughter was born.
For the past thirty years, John and his family have lived in Orlando, Florida. Both children and three grandchildren live nearby. John and his wife are members of the Cathedral Church of St. Luke, where John serves in the prayer ministry and in the choir.
John considers programming to be his profession, but he embraces poetry, philosophy, theology, and theoretical physics as his vocation.
