During the course of her shopping spree, Napanee takes a few minutes out to give birth to her son Price in a neighboring library. She deposits him in the book bin where he grows to infancy under the influence of librarians and passers-by. He learns that order is good, strangers are also good as long as they smile. He also absorbs his mother’s shopping ethic: satisfaction can be guaranteed; and the reward for honesty is having a good day.
