Luis de Lezama nació en Amurrio (Álava) el 15 de Junio de 1936. Es sacerdote. Licenciado en periodismo por la Universidad de Madrid en 1976. Diplomado en Dirección y Planificación por la Escuela de Hostelería de Lausanne (Suiza) en 1982. Fundamentalmente su actividad profesional se ha orientado a la ayuda a jóvenes con dificultades de adaptación en su aspecto profesional siempre con el concepto claro de “No dar peces sino enseñar a pescar”. Es decir, enseñar formando y generando los recursos necesarios para hacerlo, manteniendo y generando puestos de trabajo a través de la Fundación Iruaritz Lezama la cual se ha convertido en una referencia a nivel nacional e internacional.
