Do you love sledding or skiing down snow-covered hills, or skating on frozen lakes or ponds? Would you be upset if your winter came late or not at all? In Snowtown, a small town near a great lake, that’s exactly what happened. The people of Snowtown want to know where their winter is and demand the mayor do something about it. The mayor puts up a sign in the town square, Missing Snowtown’s Winter, and offers a reward to the person who finds it.
A crowd of people gathers around to read the sign and start to walk away feeling sad because everyone in town has already looked for winter when they hear a little girl’s voice from the crowd say, ‘My name is Lisa and I know what to do. I know who has your winter. He is a cranky old snowman whose name is Mr. Sneezy Snew.’ Lisa knows where Mr. Sneezy Snew has taken their winter, but can Lisa get him to return it? Given permission to go, and enlisting the help of three friends Mr. Red Robin, Mr. Gray Squirrel, and Mr. Brown Bear goes to confront the mean and old snowman to get him to bring winter back to Snowtown.
Lisa knows Mr. Sneezy Snew is not so easily swayed, but she knows a secret about him that he likes to play games and she gets him to play a game of riddles. If he loses, he must return winter back to Snowtown; however, if he wins, he gets to keep Snowtown. Will Lisa and her friends be able to outsmart Mr. Sneezy Snew in a game of riddles he never loses? And if he does lose, will he return Winter back to Snowtown?
