It seemed for a considerable period of time that nationalism had become obsolete as a political and identity-establishing factor. In recent years, however, nationalism has been undergoing a renaissance & with potentially fatal consequences. Rolf-Ulrich Kunze presents a systematic consideration of the theoretical concepts involved in nationalism. He illustrates its dangerous capacity for transformation and explains how nationalisms combine with other ideologies in such a way that they can be instrumentalized and misused.
