Jan Schönherr wurde 1979 in Weingarten geboren. Nach dem Studium der Philosophie, Soziologie, Politikwissenschaft und Germanistik und einem Auslandsjahr an der Université de Poitiers absolvierte er das Aufbaustudium »Literarisches Übersetzen aus dem Englischen« in München. Seit 2009 ist Schönherr als literarischer Übersetzer aus dem Englischen, Französischen und Italienischen tätig. Für seine Arbeit wurde er mehrfach ausgezeichnet, u.a. mit dem Bayerischen Kunstförderpreis und dem Förderpreis der Kunststiftung NRW 2019.
