About the author
Dr. Ummu Raihanah Hashim holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA and currently serves as a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Institute for Infrastructure Engineering and Sustainable Management (IIESM), Ui TM. With an extensive background in mechanical engineering, she has amassed over a decade of hands-on experience in spearheading and overseeing multifaceted works and research endeavors. Her proficiency extends to the leadership and management of experimental R&D projects within both academic and industrial contexts. These projects encompass a diverse array of domains, including advanced composite materials, polymers, nanomaterials, mechanical engineering and structures. Dr. Raihanah’s primary scholarly pursuits revolve around advanced nanomaterials, polymer nanocomposites, and sustainable materials, showcasing her dedication to the forefront of scientific inquiry.
Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Kamil Arshad graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Western Australia, M.Sc. (Highway and Transportation Engineering) from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA. He has about 20 years’ experience in the civil engineering industry with various organizations in Malaysia. He is currently Professor (Highway and Transportation) in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Deputy Director of the Institute for Infrastructure Engineering and Sustainable Management (IESM). He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Boards of Engineers, Malaysia, and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (FIEM). His current research interests include sustainable pavement materials, highway and transportation engineering.
Prof. Dr. Nor Hayati Abdul Hamid has been working as Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA, for 27 years. She completed her Ph.D. (Earthquake Engineering) from University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2006. She received her Master of Science in Construction Management and Structural Engineering from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, in 1993 and obtained her B.Sc. (Civil Engineering) from University of Pittsburgh, USA, in 1989. Her research interests’ fields are based-isolation system, seismic performance of precast buildings and tunnel form building under earthquake excitation, seismic performance of beam-column joints with corbel designed using BS8110 and Eurocode 8. She has published more than 200 articles in journals and conferences.
Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Rohana Hassan is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (Ui TM). She is also Founder of Engineered Wood Products Research Group (EWPro) at Ui TM. Her research focuses primarily on structural engineering and timber engineering products for sustainable green technologies targeting the development of timber as alternatives and green material. She has authored more than 70 publications including peer-reviewed journals and 10 book chapters. She has supervised and produced numbers of postgraduate students in the specific field of interest. Internationally, she has led and organized more than 10 international conferences and has technically reviewed more than 100 technical papers.
Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ekarizan Shaffie graduated with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Malaysia. She is currently Principal Researcher at the Institute for Infrastructure Engineering and Sustainable Management (IIESM). She has about 13 years’ experience in teaching, actively involved in research consultancy and training with various organizations in Malaysia. She has been actively involved in research as Leader and Team Member. Her research is focused on sustainable and green highway materials and pavement engineering. She also contributes as Reviewer in high impact journals, grants, organizing international/regional conferences and talks.
Ir. Ts. Dr. Anizahyati Alisibramulisi is now working as Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Ui TM. Before this, she worked as Geotechnical Engineer at Jurutera Perunding Zaaba Sdn Bhd and Bridge Engineer at Jurutera Perunding ZAR Sdn Bhd. She holds First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Ui TM, Master in Structural Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway. She is also Member of UACSE United States, IABSE Switzerland, GEOMATE Japan, SLO IStruct E UK, CSM treasurer, IEM, MSSA & REAM Committee.
Dr. Norshariza Mohamad Bhkari received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Universiti Teknologi MARA. Currently, she is Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA. She is also Principal Researcher at the Institute for Infrastructure Engineering and Sustainable Management (IIESM). She has published a number of articles in impact factor scientific journals and proceedings. Her main research interests are in the field of timber engineering and engineered timber products.
Dr. Muhd Norhasri Muhd Sidek is Principal Investigator (Researcher) and Senior Lecturer of Civil Engineering at the Institute for Infrastructure Engineering and Sustainable Management (IIESM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (Ui TM) Malaysia. His research interests are concrete, sustainable materials, nanomaterials, ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) and non- destructive tests (NDT) for building materials. Currently, he is a Graduated Member with IEM and Reviewer for Construction and Building Materials, Elsevier, since 2016 until.
