Miruna Bacali (*1989) studierte Literatur-Kunst-Medien, Französische Studien und Südosteuropastudien in Konstanz und Jena. In ihrer interdisziplinären Promotion am International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (JLU Gießen) untersuchte sie den gesellschaftlichen und historischen Wandel im postkommunistischen Rumänien im Spiegel ausgewählter literarischer Quellentexte. Während der Promotion war sie zudem wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin für Marketing und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit. Sie ist freiberufliche Übersetzerin für Deutsch und Rumänisch.
