Born in New York City, Zagat graduated from City College in 1914, practicing law for a few years before deciding to turn to writing as his full-time career. His narratives were frequently featured in pulp magazines of the era, such as ‘Argosy’, ‘Astounding Stories’, and ‘Weird Tales’.
