Acclaimed historians Bernard F. Reilly and Simon R. Bernard F. Reilly (1925–2021) was Professor Emeritus of History at Villanova University. He was the author of many books, including The Kingdom of León-Castilla Under King Alfonso VII, 1126–1157, also available from the University of Pennsylvania Press.Simon R. Doubleday is Professor of History at Hofstra University. His most recent book is a biography of the Spanish ruler Alfonso X (1252–84), The Wise King: A Christian Prince, Muslim Spain, and the Birth of the Renaissance.
