This proceedings book focuses on advances in theory, experiments and numerical simulations of fluid-structure-sound interactions related to turbulence, flow-induced vibration, noise and their control. This includes important practical areas of interaction such as vehicle aerodynamics, marine and civil engineering, nuclear reactors and biomedicine. Professor Daegyoum Kim is an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST. His research interests include fluid-structure interactions, flow-induced vibrations, multi-phase flow and unsteady aero- and hydrodynamics. He is a member of Young Korean Academy of Science and Technology (Y-KAST).
Professor Kyung Chun Kim is a distinguished professor and Director of the Eco-friendly Smart Ship Parts Technology Innovation Center at Pusan National University. His main research interests are turbulence, experimental fluid mechanics and visualization. He is an editor-in-chief of Journal of Visualization.
Professor Yu Zhou is professor and the director of the Centre for Turbulence Control at the Harbin Institute of Technology. His main research interests are turbulence, flow-induced vibrations and their artificial intelligence control. He is an elected fellow of Australasian Fluid Mechanics Society and an associate editor of AIAA Journal. He is the founding chairman of the Fluid-Structure-Sound Interactions and Control Society.
Professor Lixi Huang serves as the director of the laboratory for aerodynamics and acoustics at the University of Hong Kong and the deputy head of department of mechanical engineering. He also serves as a subject editor for Journal of Sound and Vibration, an editorial board member of the Chinese Journal of Acoustics, an associate editor for the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America and an elected fellow of the Acoustical Society of America. He is a committee member of the fluid-structure-sound interactions and control society.
