The world is a better place because composers like Mozart discovered a musical instrument and unleashed their inner talents for the world to share.
This is not one of those stories.
What begins as a thrilling discovery soon turns into a disaster. The boy endures a series of humbling experiences throughout his childhood, all related to his accidental discovery of a trumpet in a closet.

Doug is a native of Kansas City and graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. He spent his career working in insurance and reinsurance in the Kansas City area. He currently resides in Overland Park, KS, with his wife of more than 45 years in a house they bought because they wanted a first-floor master. After all, he’s getting older by the day.
