George Griffith was born and grew up on a Missouri farm where he developed a lifelong interest in nature. He earned a BSED from the University of Missouri and an MSEE degree from San Jose State. He served as a fire control officer on the USS Midway before enjoying a thirty-year career in telecommunications product design and planning. He has lived with his wife, Suzanne, in the Reno-Tahoe area for twenty-six years.
