Greg graduated with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry and art.
Greg continued playing after college at a semiprofessional level while teaching marine biology. Beginning in 1998, he became the assistant coach of Wheaton College and coached club soccer in Boston. After two years, Greg earned his B-license with the USSF and his advanced national diploma with the NSCAA and became the assistant coach of the University of Cincinnati, where he was able to help develop professional soccer players as well as future college and professional coaches. While in the Cincinnati area, Greg directed camps and became deeply involved in the soccer community as a youth trainer and director at the club level.
In 2009, Greg became the assistant coach at Thomas More College. For the next three years, Thomas More had their most successful seasons, winning three conference titles and making three NCAA tournament appearances.
