Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management and the XVI Congreso de Ingeniería de Organización (CIO 2012). The aim of CIO is to establish a forum for the open and free exchange of ideas, opinions and academic experiences about research, technology transfer or successful business experiences in the field of Industrial Engineering. The CIO 2012 is an annual meeting promoted by “Asociación para el Desarrollo de la Ingeniería de Organización” (Industrial Engineers Association, ADINGOR) with a Scientific Committee composed of 61 international referees and more than 200 professionals from 7 countries.

J. Carlos Prado-Prado, Ph D, is an Industrial Engineer. He also holds a Ph D in industrial engineering from the Polytechnical University of Madrid. He is currently a Professor of Operations Management, Human Resources and Marketing at the School of Industrial Engineers at the University of Vigo, Spain. He has more than 25 years of experience developing research projects with many companies and institutions both publics and privates. He has also published in different ISI journals.
Jesús García-Arca, is a lecturer on Logistics Management and Continuous Improvement at the Escuela de Ingeniería Industrial (School of Industrial Engineering) at the Universidad de Vigo (Spain) since year 2000 and a member of GIO Research Group (Grupo de Ingeniería de Organización) at this university. He received his Industrial Engineering degree in 1994, his Logistics Postgraduate in 1995 and his Ph D in 2004. He has 18 years´ experience as consultant in Logistics, Lean Management and Continuous Improvement in more than 60 projects with Spanish firms. He has published over 30 papers in journals and 65 conference papers. He is a member of EUROMA and ADINGOR.
Prof. Lorenzo Ros, full professor of Operations Management and supply chain. He received his Industrial Engineering MSc degree in 1987, CAD-CAM MSc degree in 1990 and the Ph D in 1991, at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (Spain). He worked as an Engineering consultant from 1980 to1991 when he joined the Organización de Empresas department at Politecnica de Valencia. In 1999 he was the Operations Management Chair at Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT). He has published over 45 papers in journals, 80 conference papers and 41 projects with industries, several as project coordinator. He is member of the DSI and INFORMS societies.
Prof. Luis Onieva is full professor of Operations Management in the Engineering School of the University of Seville. He has beenresponsible of a large number of projects of technology transfer between the university and companies, and coordinator and lecturer of numerous seminars, courses and master programs in Business Management. He has been general manager of the Industrial Research Association of Andalusia (AICIA), director of the Department of Industrial Engineering and the first Technology Transfer Vice Chancellor of the University of Seville. He has published many papers in journals and conference papers. He is member of the IIE, APICS, OR Society and INFORMS.
