Martha C. Carpentier is a Professor at Seton Hall University, New Jersey, and the author of Susan Glaspell”s Major Novels (University Press of Florida, 2001), as well as Ritual, Myth, and the Modernist Text (Gordon and Breach, 1998), and she is co-editor of the forthcoming anthology, Disclosing Intertextualites: The Stories, Plays, and Novels of Susan Glaspell (Rodopi, 2006). Vice-president and co-founder of the Susan Glaspell Society (susanglaspell.org), Carpentier has presented papers and chaired panels on Glaspell at the 20th-Century Literature and Culture Conference, the American Literature Association Conference, and the Eugene O”Neill Society International Conference.
