They are Penny Garbus, Jeff Garbus, and Gillian Garbus. Jeff Garbus has written 20 books; Penny Garbus co-authored with Jeff about four of the books. This is Gillian Garbus’ first entry into publishing.
Jeff and Penny Garbus have been running database consulting companies for more than 23 years. They have had the privilege of working with IT teams all over the world.
Jeff Garbus
Jeff’s background includes a Bachelor of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and work experience from personal computers to mainframes. He has decades of client/server, Sybase, and Microsoft SQL Server experience, with emphasis on assisting customers in migrating from existing systems to large-scale projects with large databases. He is known in the industry, having spoken at user conferences and user groups since the early 1990s, written articles and columns for magazines, and published 20 books on database management systems. Recently his focus has been on database performance, tuning, monitoring, and reengineering. Jeff has stayed at leading edge of technology and excelled at transferring his knowledge to others. Gillian Garbus
Gillian is attending Florida Polytechnic University studying the technology industry. She brings a fascinating couple of chapters to share her knowledge verifying the quality of the data. She is now an entrepreneur herself starting her first business while in college and writing her book ‘The Dark Side of Data.’[email protected]
Penny Garbus
Penny Garbus has been working for in the data management field since leaving college when she worked as a data entry clerk for Pitney Bowes Credit. When she was young, she helped her father by answering the phone and learned from him as his computer consulting company grew. She later ran the training and marketing departments of Northern Lights Software and is the co-founder of Soaring Eagle Consulting, Inc. where she is projects lead for software development for their soon-to-be-released database management software. She also is proud mom of four children. One is with a master’s degree in electrical engineering, and three are entrepreneurs growing their organizations. [email protected]
