Jaguar XJ-S [EPUB ebook]
The Essential Buyer’s Guide

Ủng hộ

An expert guide to buying the Jaguar XJ-S you’ve always wanted. Perhaps because it was Jaguar’s longest-running model ever, there are lots of examples of the XJ-S around, but there are also lots of terrible specimens to trap the unwary. With the youngest car now over 20 years old, most XJ-S cars have long since dropped out of the dealer network, and good examples are climbing in price, but need to be sifted out from the poor ones, which are often superficially dressed to sell. This book takes the fear out of buying one of these quick, complex cars, providing a checklist for common problem areas, followed by a core section taking readers methodically through each system in detail and scoring them to arrive at an objective assessment of the car’s condition, helping you make the decision to buy or walk away. Short of employing an XJ-S expert to do the inspection for you, there is no safer way to avoid buying a bad car and to end up with the vehicle of your dreams.

Giới thiệu về tác giả

A medical writer by profession, Peter has also written three other books on Jaguars, reflecting his passion for the Coventry marque. He has owned a long line of Jaguars and Daimlers and currently drives or restores a 1966 E-type, a rare 1976 Series 2 Daimler Double Six Coupé, a 1985 Series 3 Daimler Double Six HE, and – his favourite – a 1984 XJ-S Banham 5-speed convertible. Having bought and sold other XJ-S cars in far from pristine condition, Peter knows the things to look out for and passes on his hard-earned knowledge in this book.
