Peter Hunn was introduced to small engines on his way home from elementary school when an elderly neighbor with a bad arm asked him to try firing up his lawnmower. Three determined pulls later, the rope-start mill sputtered to life and soon prompted Hunn to notice other little air-cooled engines, as well as outboard motors, about which he’s authored several books. The former owner of local radio stations in Pennsylvania and upstate New York, Hunn teaches broadcast and communication subjects at the State University of New York at Oswego and serves as principal at a Syracuse-area career and technical high school. In that role, he always enjoys chatting with students in the Automotive Technology class about their cars, boats, motorcycles, go-karts, and anything else with an engine.
