The story of a school community at war: following 5 members of King Edward VI School, Southampton during the First World War

Members of King Edward VI School in Southampton were encouraged to ‘do their bit’ for the war effort and the school magazine Sotoniensis had a War Notes section which kept readers up-to-date with various O.E.s (Old Edwardians) who were engaged in the fighting during the First World War. A Commemoration Room at the school has an oak mural with the names of 50 O.E.s who died in the Great War among them those featured in this book: Cpt. STA Neil, 2nd Lt. EL Gutteridge, Sub Lt. OJ Hobbs, Sub Lt. AF Wolfe, and 2nd Lt. FJ Drew.
