August 2005. Hurricane Katrina has rampaged New Orleans, and the US Government has turned its back on the poorer parts of the great city, making it the perfect setting for a Neo Western.
This collection finds mercenaries traversing the devastated Lower Ninth Ward, make-shift toll booths, guns for hire, sunken neighborhoods, dangerous cults, desperate thieves and a graveyard for old Mardi Gras floats. The colorful, tragic background lends an air of the weird to these exciting stories.
Phillip Mottaz (The Murderous Haircut of the Mayor of Bel Air) has composed four bizarre short action stories in line with the Spaghetti Westerns of the 1960’s.
As a representative of the ‘Gumbo Western, ‘ Once Upon a Time In New Orleans has it all – a little of the good, a lot of the bad and a fair share of the ugly.

Phillip Mottaz grew up in Illinois’ smallest city and graduated from Knox College before studying improv and sketch comedy in Chicago. Since moving to Los Angeles, he has written for You Tube stars, film, television, music magazines and for fun.
