This book addresses various aspects of how smart healthcare can be used to detect and analyze diseases, the underlying methodologies, and related security concerns. Healthcare is a multidisciplinary field that involves a range of factors like the financial system, social factors, health technologies, and organizational structures that affect the healthcare provided to individuals, families, institutions, organizations, and populations. The goals of healthcare services include patient safety, timeliness, effectiveness, efficiency, and equity. Smart healthcare consists of m-health, e-health, electronic resource management, smart and intelligent home services, and medical devices. The Internet of Things (Io T) is a system comprising real-world things that interact and communicate with each other via networking technologies. The wide range of potential applications of Io T includes healthcare services. Io T-enabled healthcare technologies are suitable for remote health monitoring, including rehabilitation, assisted ambient living, etc. In turn, healthcare analytics can be applied to the data gathered from different areas to improve healthcare at minimum expense.

Prasant Kumar Pattnaik, Ph.D. (Computer Science), Fellow IETE, Senior Member IEEE, is a Professor at the School of Computer Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, India. He has more than a decade of teaching and research experience. Dr. Pattnaik has published numbers of research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. He also published many edited book volumes in Springer and IGI Global Publication. His areas of interest include mobile computing, cloud computing, cyber security, intelligent systems, and brain–computer interface. He is one of the Associate Editors of Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, IOS Press, and Intelligent Systems Book Series Editor of CRC Press, Taylor Francis Group.
Suneeta Mohanty, Ph.D. (Computer Science), is working as an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, India. Dr. Mohanty has published several research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences including IEEE and Springer as well as serve as organizing chair (SCI-2018). She was appointed in many conferences as session chair, reviewer, and track co-chair. Her research area includes cloud computing, big data, Internet of Things, and data analytics.
Satarupa Mohanty, Ph.D. (Computer Science), is working as an Associate Professor at the School of Computer Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, India.
