Dr. Shanker Lai is a biological scientist and renowned Teacher, Breeder and Research Manager. He took his graduation in Agriculture from Amar Singh Jat College, Lakhaoti (Buland Shahar) and M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D. degrees from Govt. Agricultural College, popularly known as Patthar College ( Now C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology), Kanpur. He served the same college as teacher in Agricultural Botany, Vegetable Breeder and Economic Botanist (Legumes). He has published 75 research papers, more than 200 extension articles, 10 bulletins, 6 manuals and 3 books. Dr Lai has made significant contributions in the field of plant breeding by developing 15 varieties of crops and vegetables (6 of chickpea, 2 each of pigeon-pea and field-pea and 1 each of mung-bean, bitter gourd, tomato, sem and chilli). Email Id.: [email protected] Dr. Arun Kumar is Senior Technical Officer at National Phytotron Facility, ICAR-lndian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He took his B.Sc. (Ag. & AH) and M.Sc. (Ag.) degrees with specialization in Genetics and Flank Breeding from Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology. Kanpur. He took his Ph.D degree in Agricultural Botany from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University. Kanpur in the field of maize genetics. Dr. Arun Kumar has been involved in the hybrid development program in maize in the capacity of Research Associate and as Directorate of Maize Research and Technical Officer, National Phytotron Facility. He has around 20 research papers and 25 extension articles to his credit. He has helped and even still assisting many M. Sc and Ph. D Scholars of various disciplines of I.A.R.I, New Delhi in carrying out their experiments under controlled environmental conditions at the National Phytotron Facility. Email Id.: [email protected]
