Dr. Simon George ist in der Ostschweiz geboren und hat dort seine Jugend verbracht. Seine Ausbildung unterbrach er für Wanderjahre in den Orient, Indien, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Japan und in die USA. Er war ca. 35 Jahre selbständig praktizierender Rechtsanwalt. Seinen dritten Lebensabschnitt verbringt er in einem Traveller Lodge in Vietnam.
Mit dem Erlös aus diesem Buch möchte er Kindern in Ham Ninh, Vietnam, eine Schulbildung ermöglichen und bedürftige Kranke unterstützen.
