Das Buch schließt diese Forschungslücke am Beispiel der USA, Deutschlands und Großbritanniens – es ist die erste systematische wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit Alltagshelden, die aufgrund tatsächlicher oder ihnen zugeschriebener außergewöhnlicher Taten heroisiert werden.
