About the author
Victor Appleton was a house pseudonym for Edward Stratemeyer’s (1862-1930) Stratemeyer Syndicate, who created the character of Tom Swift and wrote many of the early volumes in the series. Appleton is said to be possibly a combination of ghostwriters.
