Author: W. B. Yeats

Support
Nobel Prize-winning poet William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) was a proud Irishman. Born in Dublin, he wished to support Ireland’s native heritage during the country’s English rule and joined the Celtic Revival movement. In 1922 he was appointed senator of the Irish Free State. His nationalism can further be seen in the use of Irish mythology in his poetry. He is the editor of Fairy and Folk Tales of the Irish Peasantry, Mythologies, and Oxford Book of Modern Verse.
