Graeme Davison is a Sir John Monash Distinguished Professor in the School of Historical Studies at Monash University since 1982. He has also held appointments at the University of Melbourne, the Australian National University and Harvard University, where he was Professor of Australian Studies. His books include The Rise and Fall of Marvellous Melbourne and How the Car Won Our Hearts and Conquered Our Cities, which won the Nettie Palmer Prize for Non-fiction.Pat Jalland has been a professor of history at the Australian National University since 1997. She previously taught history at Murdoch and Curtin universities, and was a research fellow at Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge. Her books include Women, Marriage and Politics: Death in the Victorian Family, which won the New South Wales Premier”s Prize for history; and Changing Ways of Death in 20th Century Australia.Wilfrid Prest held an ARC Professorial Fellowship from 2002-07 and is now Professor Emeritus in Law and History at the University of Adelaide. He is the author of The Inns of Court under Elizabeth I and the Early Stuarts 1590-1640; Albion Ascendant: English History 1660-1815 and most recently William Blackstone: Law and Letters in the Eighteenth Century. He is also the editor of The Wakefield Companion to South Australian History.
