He is the author of two books: The Conservative Turn: Lionel Trilling, Whittaker Chambers and the Lessons of Anti-Communism (Harvard University Press, 2009) and In History’s Grip: Philip Roth’s Newark Trilogy (Stanford University Press, 2012).
