Zakhar Prilepin, geboren 1975 in Zentralrussland. Sohn eines Hochschulprofessors und einer Krankenschwester, studierte Linguistik in Nischni Nowgorod. Gleich sein erstes Buch war 2006 für viele Preise nominiert, seither erhielt Prilepin u.a. 2008 den Russian National Bestseller Award und 2009 den Bunin Literaturpreis. Seine Bücher sind in über 20 Sprachen übersetzt. Prilepin lebt mit seiner Familie in Nischni Nowgorod.
