A.P. Sharma, born on 25 December 1932 at Dholpur, Rajasthan, India, graduated from Agra College, Agra, in the year 1954. He then shifted to Maharaja”s College, Jaipur, and obtained Master”s degree in English Literature in 1957. After that he served the State Education Department of Rajasthan as a Senior Master of English for almost 15 years. During this period he obtained Master”s degrees in Education (1966) and Philosophy (1969) from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, and Ph.D. degree in Education (1972) from the University of Udaipur. In November 1972, he was offered a senior teaching position in Nigeria where he served for more than 12 years in the Northern Universities. After relinquishing his position from the University of Sokoto in Nigeria in 1984, he joined the Catholic University at Washington D.C. for post-doctoral work. He came back to India in 1985, became Principal of R.M.V. Teachers” College at Udaipur and later Professor of Education at Vidya Bhawan Teachers”College, Udaipur. He visited Willamette University at Salem, Oragon, USA. in 1990 in the capacity of a Visiting Scholar. After retiring from Vidya Bhawan in December 1991, he joined as Principal at the College of Education at Kanore, Udaipur. In 1992 he was awarded a Ph. D. degree in Philosophy from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. So far he has published seven books and thirty-five articles in the field of Educational Philosophy, both in India and abroad.
