He becomes a masked highwayman, who steals from the rich to give to the poor, and is considered a loyal, brave and charming man by those he encounters. He is needed to assist Phillip Gascoyne (an Earl in immediate danger after he was falsely accused of being a traitor to the King) who desires to make contact with his sister.
