支持

From the earliest times people have pondered why we are here; philosophers and scientists continue to grapple with the question. For this compilation of wisdom and insights into what is truly important, Catherine Conlon tracked down people from varying walks of life, all with a deep connection to Ireland, for answers to life’s crucial questions. Contributors include Maureen Gaffney, Chris Hadfield, Sr Stan, Colum Mc Cann, Alice Taylor, Conor Pope and many others from the worlds of writing, politics, journalism, charity and more. This collection will inspire self-reflection and lead us to reconsider our notion of the real value of our lives.

关于作者

Catherine Conlon lectures in Epidemiology and Public Health at University College Cork. Her keen interest in health gave rise to her book Sonas: Celtic Thoughts on Happiness (2009) that explored the depths beneath the distractions of modern life. A mother of four living in Cork, she cites winning the Young Scientist Award as a turning point, realising she could do anything if she wanted it enough. She also published a novel, Valentia, about island life off the coast of Kerry.
