Gonzalo M. Sanchez is a Fellow of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and a practicing neurosurgeon. He was Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of South Dakota from 1973 to 1997 and continues his neurosurgical private practice in South Dakota. With active memberships in the History of Neurosurgery Section of the AANS and the American Association for the History of Medicine, he has maintained a life-long interest in ancient Egyptian medicine. He has spoken and published extensively on Medical-Egyptological subjects. Dr. Sanchez was elected to the Explorer”s Club in 2005 and he is listed in the Directory of North American Egyptologists of the University of Chicago. Dr. Sanchez has been Vice President of the Arizona Chapter of the American Research Center in Egypt, and served as its President from 2008 through mid-2012. Edmund S. Meltzer (Ph.D. 1980, University of Toronto) was Associate Chair in the Department of Religion at The Claremont Graduate School and taught Egyptology at the Institute for the History of Ancient Civilizations in China before settling in Stevens Point, Wisconsin as an independent scholar. He has contributed to numerous Egyptological publications as well as J. H. Ellens, ed., The Destructive Power of Religion (Praeger 2004) and several other recent works in religious studies.
