Sir Evelyn Wood (1838–1919) was a British Field Marshal and a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious honor that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He is the author of Our Fighting Services and How They Made the Empire (1916), and an autobiography, From Midshipman to Field Marshal (1906).
