Dr. Faith Ka Shun Chan specialised in sustainable flood risk management, climate adaptations and urban resilience on Asian coastal megacities. He is currently funded by the Chinese National Research Council (NSFC) as Principal Investigator on the microplastics and its impacts on urban rivers, and he is also involved in two international research projects as a Researcher in the Blue-Green Cities Consortium (funded by ESPRC and British Academy from the UK research council) and co-investigating in the flood risk and commercial properties (funded by RICS) project. He is also a Principal Investigator on three municipal-funded projects to investigate the surface water quality, typhoon-enhanced flood risk and the development of a “Sponge City” pilot study in Ningbo. He has published more than 30 publications in top tier international peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Cleaner Production, Land Use Policy, Journal of Flood Risk Management, Nature Ecology and Evolution, Applied Geography, Nature Hazards and International Journal of Water Resources Management, book chapters and magazines. Currently, he is based in Ningbo, China, and aims to work further on projects concerning flood risk management, water resources management and climate change adaptations in Asia cities.
Dr. Hing Kai Chan is a Professor of Operations Management of the Nottingham University Business School China, University of Nottingham Ningbo China. His main research interests are in intelligent manufacturing and production management. He worked in the electronic manufacturing industry over 10 years before joining the academia. Professor Chan has published over 100 peer-reviewed academic articles and (co-)edited several special issues for reputable international journals. His publications appear in Production and Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, various IEEE Transactions, Decision Support Systems, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, among others. He has been the Co-Editor of Industrial Management & Data Systems since 2014 and is an Associate Editor of Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review since 2018. He was the Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics from 2009 to 2015 and the Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics from 2014 to 2017. Professor Chan also serves as an Editorial Board member (or similar) in a number of journals such as International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications, and Online Information Review.
Dr. Tiantian is an Associate Professor in Economics and Quantitative Methods and the Director of External Engagement at Nottingham University Business School China, University of Nottingham Ningbo China. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics at the Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University (UK). Prior to joining UNNC on September 2012, she worked at Cardiff Business School asa Teaching Assistant and then at Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) as a Senior Research Fellow. Her research interest is primarily in productivity, efficiency, competitiveness and risk management of banking industry and also extends to interdisciplinary research of Supply Chain Finance (SCF). She is a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Inclusive Finance and has been providing policy consultancy to the government on financial inclusion and financial consumer protection. She also serves as a Reviewer for many leading economics, finance and operations journals.
Dr. Ming Xu is an Associate Professor in the School for Environment and Sustainability and in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His research focuses on the broad fields of sustainable engineering and industrial ecology. At the University of Michigan, he is a core faculty member in the Center for Sustainable Systems, co-directs the Graduate Certificate Programin Industrial Ecology and currently serves as the Director of China Programs in the School for Environment and Sustainability. He teaches Environmental Footprinting and Input-Output Analysis (EAS 573) and Systems Thinking for Sustainable Development and Enterprise (EAS 550/Strategy 566). He received the Robert A. Laudise Medal from International Society for Industrial Ecology for “outstanding achievement in industrial ecology by a researcher under the age of 36” in 2015 and the US National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award in 2016. Currently, he serves as the President of Chinese Society for Industrial Ecology and Editor-in-Chief of the journal Resources, Conservation & Recycling (2017 Impact Factor: 5.12). He was elected to Chair the 2022 Gordon Research Conference on Industrial Ecology.
