The artist has poured into his maxims a bittersweet view of reality, moving from the most terrible irony and humour to metapoetic games, and emerging in some sentences a misogynistic tone. Rusiñol criticizes certain stereotypes with the intention of laugh of some bourgeois and fashions aspects of the epoch, but in his reflections appears some artistic concern and above all his view of reality.
