It is worth reiterating that this book series aims at providing state of the art review on all relevant topics with a specific focus for the benefit of all stakeholders including professionals from academia, industry, government organizations, researchers and above all the student community. The chapters included in this volume provide in-depth coverage on several different facets including evolution of policies, details of policy initiatives by central and state governments, implications of policy measures for financing and emissions mitigation etc. Since there is no single book that presents a comprehensive treatment of the policies on renewable energy and energy efficiency in the Indian context, this volume is expected to serve as the much needed teaching-learning resource for teachers and students interested in the area of energy policy and planning.
