He wanders through the streets, – he revisits her house, – he gazes on her picture; the parsonage in the churchyard supplies him with a picture of family misery 3 he looks out from his windows on the cheerless rainy night3 and in the marketings of the old woman, and the selfish indolence of her lovely daughter, finds new food for his misanthropy.
