Ignacio M. Sánchez Prado es profesor de español, estudios latinoamericanos y estudios de cine y media. También es director de estudios de pregrado en el Programa de Estudios Latinoamericanos y es Jarvis Thurston y Mona Van Duyn Professor en Humanidades en el departamento de Artes y Ciencias de la Universidad de Washington en St. Louis. Su libro Naciones intelectuales ganó el premio de la Asociación de Estudios Latinoamericanos en la sección de estudios mexicanos en 2010.
